World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item upgrader. Depending on the upgrade type it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be capable of dealing with. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories on how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that determines how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values, and also that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, because the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then boosted by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could provide the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it must be done per item upgrade and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more useful in the initial game run than later ones because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost the luck of the item to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item upgrader mod with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
