Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of extra damage or more AD or even more affixes.

Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear due to their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They boost the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kit to recover upgrades from the items.

The amount of damage that an armored piece or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase as it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others make it lighter and stronger. The name of the upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade that an item upgrader will be given, as illustrated below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges in order to be used. All levels of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to obtain them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped with another identical jewel without destroying it. You can only replace the gem once within an item of equipment.

It is typical to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and create a surface harder than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades additionally, players can get glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and can be swapped out at any time but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Trinkets

They are also available from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased from the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but valuable boost in movement speed and the ability to evade. After that, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar manner to the way a player obtains weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be put into any type of equipment, however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not fighting. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the absence of good team or talent tree slots which are usually filled by a hero's top stats.

In general, trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best item upgrader in Slot) items that you will not replace anytime soon. At the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket to a red, while top and middle players typically choose a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
