WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade items boosts the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
