Seats

However, some models can be converted to accommodate an additional seat or carrycot by converting adapters (these are usually more common in tandem buggies). You'll also see that some models will allow you to add a ride-on board for older children who would like to walk but still need some assistance.

It can accommodate twins starting at birth and accepts two car seats, or a carrycot with seat. The seats are required to face forwards and there's no room to store a bag of groceries underneath, so you'll need a sidepack to do this.

If you're looking to travel off-road and off-road, the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good choice. It's a side-by-side with the smallest footprint of any double buggy on the market. The iCandy Orange double buggies are one of the most sought-after available. This is due to their superb comfort. It's an all terrain pushchair, with soft suspension to make smooth work of bumpy surfaces. It can accommodate up to 30 seating configurations and includes a built-in ride-on for older children who prefer to walk, as well as a 'cinema' seating mode that raises the back of the seat to improve visibility.

The phil&teds dots are fantastic single buggys that can be easily modified to accommodate two (or three!) in multiple configurations. This is especially helpful if you have an infant in a car seat because the frame can be fitted with a wedgie for optimum lie-flat positioning, or car seat adapters to many brands.

Suspension

The suspension of a triple wheeled buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children are able to push it. A smooth ride is crucial as babies can feel every bump on the road, especially if it's in rough terrain such as grass or unpaved paths. Certain models also have front wheels that lock to assist in maneuvering and navigating obstacles like curbs.

Some models have air-filled tyres that are great for all-terrain rides, but they can be prone punctures. Make sure you keep a spare set of tyres in your trunk. Others have foam or gel tyres that are designed to withstand bumps and can be less susceptible to punctures, however, you might feel a bit stiff and uncomfortable for your child's back should you decide to jog.

Folding

A 3 wheel pushchair sale-wheel double buggy can fold up quite well to store it. In general the more wheels a buggy has, the easier it will be to navigate on rough terrain. This is particularly true if your wheels are larger than average size. The clever frame can expand to accommodate an extra seat, yet it weighs only 11kg. This makes it easy to lift and move. It can be used with the car seat, a carrycot, or both. This allows you to get the best of all worlds.
