Private ADHD Titration

There is currently a nationwide shortage of medication to treat ADHD symptoms. This is due both to manufacturing problems as well as an increase in demand worldwide.

Our service is private ADHD titration instead of waiting for NHS funding through Right to Choose. Our assessment fees cover the cost of a single prescription.

Titration

A highly skilled consultant psychiatrist will conduct a thorough evaluation of your ADHD. This will include a medical history and an assessment using the typical ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.

After your assessment After your assessment, you will be informed whether medication is appropriate for your situation. This will be discussed during your follow-up appointment (which may be scheduled in person, by video link or over the phone). Your clinician will discuss the various medication options available. If you decide to begin medication, we will help you the opportunity to increase your dosage to ensure the best balance of benefits and side effects for you.

This process can take several weeks, and involves adjusting the dosage of your child's medication gradually until the proper balance is reached. It's not uncommon to need to titrate several times before finding the one that is best for your child's ADHD symptoms. It is important that parents are involved in the titration adhd adults and keep an eye out for their child's behavior so they can inform the doctor whether the medication is helping or causing adverse effects.

If you do not decide to return to NHS care, your medication will be issued with a prescription from a private pharmacy that you will need to pay for at the pharmacy (this is not included in your consultation fees). You will need to attend six-monthly appointments to check your medications. This includes blood pressure and pulse measurements. Annual exams are also required.

Follow-up appointments

Once the assessment is completed after the assessment is completed, you can make follow-up appointments with the psychiatrist. The appointment usually takes place via a zoom video call but in certain circumstances it is possible to have an audio-only consultation (again at an extra cost).

In this session, we'll discuss any treatment options and decide on a custom-made ADHD medication titration strategy. The cost of these titration consultations is PS150 for face to face sessions and PS60 for online or telephone video consultations. The cost of medication is additional and are paid directly to the pharmacy.

The psychiatrist will also inquire with you about your family history and the impact your ADHD symptoms can have on your life, including any issues with your relationships that you may be facing or any other mental health problems that you may be experiencing. During this assessment it is vital that you are honest and open with the doctor who will use the information you provide to determine if you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. Some providers have different policies regarding whether or not they require a GP letter. Medication
