What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no gameplay benefit other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosters

With an upgrader for your item you can enjoy a number of bonuses. They can include a range of stats, as well as a number of extra bonuses. Some boosts are useful in specific builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others can bring an enormous amount of value to specific collectors.

Some items come with built-in boos that is not beneficial when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap provides extra slots for potion. These are often upp'd to inject more value into the perfect or nearly perfect item.

Costs

There are a few expenses that are associated with upgrades to items. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. It can be costly and is dependent on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it receives. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the price of the materials needed for an upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These items can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

The process of upgrading an item is a complex process that requires time. It can take 8 hours depending on the size of an upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated using the item's new ilvl bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important stats. In some instances the upgrade will provide additional benefits that can be chosen from a variety of benefits.

In rare cases the upgrade will only replace the highest-costing benefits. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other changes to an item upgrade, like changing its weapon damage type or removing or adding an operative or unwieldy property. The cost of these changes is based on the new ilvl of the item level upgrade, and it may require a special substance like the adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

The basis for upgrading items is the chance of success, and as with any random system, there is the possibility that the upgrade will fail. There are a number of methods to increase your odds of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional components to your upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is an item you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade succeeding by some percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that some items provide however it is more solid. It can be added to any armor or weapon and is able to be used up to three times.

You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These are shown in a window above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

Another method to increase the odds of a successful upgrade is by using an item known as the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item can be useful if your weapon or piece is close to or has reached the top level of its tier. This item will allow you upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of it breaking.

If an upgrade fails it will be restored to its previous state. This is typically an error, but it can also be a downgrade. It is an excellent idea to save upgrades for when you're close to the highest level of an item, and to use it as a last resort.

There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding. You can boost your chances of success by enhancing your equipment repeatedly using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. The rate of success will be increased if you can increase the chance of getting a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.

Failure Rate
