Lever Pad

Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this is dependent on the way your door and handle are used. Doors that are external, for instance should be equipped with cylinders that are more secure and internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that increase security, for instance anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the other end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, in the event that this is not possible, you may remove it to take measurements. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, so it is crucial that it's not too long.

The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to deflect an attack and protect your door.
