Hades 2 - Sign Up For a Playtest

The sequel to the Supergiant Games 2020 roguelike Hades will be released in 2019. It's a bold move that increases the stakes and gives more insight into family politics.

Melinoe is back to kill Chronos the titan of time. On her way, she will encounter new gods including the personifications of the light Apollo and the goddess of witchcraft Hecate and the deity of revenge Nemesis.

1. Hades 2 Technical test

It's worth taking part in an in-depth test if you are a fan of Supergiant and their roguelike 2020 Hades. The studio has announced that it's Early Access launch will be in the near future, and a test with a lower number of players than the full 1.0 version will help get any bugs fixed.

It's as easy as logging onto the game's Steam page, oscarreys and mashing the "request access" button. There is a limited number of spots available, and not everyone will be chosen. The technical test will let players explore the first part of Hades 2, with early-game characters, systems, and content. The players who have completed the test will be "gently urged" to stop and wait for the Early Access Version, which will be available in the near future.

The game's new theme revolves around Melinoe's journey to the Underworld to save her family. The game will explore Greek mythology in greater depth than the original. Melinoe is joined by her Aunt Hecate. The sequel introduces a range of new powers, as well as more sexually attractive Gods to woo.

Hades 2 builds on the Roguelike gameplay of the previous, with a new protagonist and an expanded roster of Greek gods to woo. Supergiant is aiming to create the same combination of responsive gameplay and vivid visuals that made its predecessor an award-winning contender for Game of the Year when it launched in the year 2021.

Technical test participants will be able to choose different boons and rewards in every room they visit, battle enemies and minibosses as well as fight the area's boss. They'll also be able to select permanent upgrades and face the difficult task of "God Mode."

Hades 2 has more levels and enemies, voiced characters and key areas when compared to the original. However, those selected for the technical test will not be able to carry over their progress into the Early Access build. Supergiant is planning to "reset" the game back to the beginning once it is in Early Access. This means that save data won't be transferred.

2. Hades 2 Early Access

Hades 2 has officially entered early access and is available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The early access version of the game as well as the full release 1.0 will be available to gamers who purchase the game. Supergiant Games confirmed that the launch will take place in 2024.

While the original Hades was a modern classic, this sequel takes it over the top of the water in every way. It features a thrilling combat experience with more depth than ever before, the roguelite is a fully realized game that's just waiting for a few finishing touches to make it a complete masterpiece.

Apart from its stunning graphics, Hades 2 introduces a host of new and intriguing characters and features that enhance the experience and challenge players in ways they never expected. Alongside the new gods shades, and other items that populate the Underworld there's a wide array of items available to find and upgrade using Incantations. This system of permanent upgrades is found throughout each game. Melinoe is able to craft new spells and upgrade her Nocturnal Armor as well as Nocturnal Weapons. She also can gather items from the Crossroads Camp for future runs and unlock boons, weapons and other tools.

Another welcome addition is the addition of more open regions that offer different routes to explore each area and an ever-changing setting to explore. Each region is a unique approach to the Underworld, with some more accessible than others but all with unique challenges that stand out against the usual offerings of other roguelites.

Supergiant has also altered the gameplay in the early access build. This cuts down on the work required to obtain certain upgrades and Oscar Reys makes it simpler to move between areas. Hades 2 is still far from being finished however, Supergiant has said that it will continue to refine the game and make it perfect.

Supergiant is famous for its ability to listen to its players and resolve any issues that may arise. This is evident in how it dealt with the early-access release of Hades 2 It could be some time before the full version is released, but it already feels worthy of a place on your gaming shelves alongside its predecessor.

3. Hades 2 Beta

Hades was a roguelike like none other when it was released in the year 2018. The game has won many awards and is considered to be one of the best games ever made. It's not a surprise that the game resonated with people due to its rich story rooted in Greek Mythology, stories of struggles between families and LGBTQ+ representation which feels natural and inclusive. It came as no surprise to those who loved the film when Supergiant announced that a sequel was in the in the works.

Seven years later, after the initial release, Hades 2 is finally making its way into early access. Although it hasn't been changed much mechanically, Supergiant's love for and dedication to Hades 2 are evident from the beginning.

According to the Steam page for Hades 2, "the game brings back all the elements that were so special in the first isometric view: clearing rooms, identifying boons and launching powerful attacks, the Hub World with an actor fully voiced character to talk to and to learn from, as well as the ever-changing Underworld."

The technical test also adds new features to the game. For instance, the capability to unlock new upgrades permanent for Melinoe as well as a brand new weapon, Oscar Reys and a myriad of other options that can aid you in surviving the underworld's hordes. You can also tame witchy companions, uncover mysteries at the Arcana Altar and gather reagents to boost your skills.

4. Hades 2 Release Date

Hades 2 is now available in early access for PC after a successful test. Supergiant Games' sequel follows Melinoe's quest to find her father's freedom and destroy Chronos. Hades 2 promises to deliver all the great mechanics of its award-winning predecessor and an adaptation of the story that is that is rooted in Greek mythology and the dawn of witchcraft.

Steam and Epic Games Store are both available to those who wish to purchase the game. Those who purchase the early access version will have access to all future versions of the game. Hades 2 will be released in full at the end of 2024.

The roguelike's 2022 launch date is still a ways from being a reality but the early access version has already caught the interest of players. A livestream previewing April's technical test revealed a few details about the game's characters and Oscar Reys gameplay.

During the stream, the developers talked about how they plan to add new characters, regions and challenges over the coming months. They also discussed ways they're aiming to make combat experience more rewarding by introducing more abilities based on skill.

Supergiant explained in the FAQ that the early-access version of Hades 2 would have "at at least the same number of levels, enemies, and voiced characters as the finished version of Hades." The team hopes to continue development until 2024. This means that the 1.0 release could be several months off.

The trailer for Hades 2 features the Underworld Princess, Melinoe, fighting the cool witch Hecate. While Melinoe isn't an exact remake of Zagreus, Supergiant says that Melinoe will still have the same style and character. The character is also based on a previously-existing character from Greek mythology which the studio has adapted to match the story of Hades 2.

If you're considering purchasing Hades 2, it might be worth waiting for the full 1.0 release instead of diving right into the early access version. If you're willing to be patient for a few months before purchasing the full version, you can buy it on Steam or Epic Games Store.
