They just multiply the force you apply by converting a small amount of effort applied over a long distance into a greater amount of force that is applied over a smaller distance. Levers are used to lift heavy objects and move large quantities of cargo. The lever principle is employed in everyday tools such as crowbars. Hammer claws, fishing rods and your own legs when you are standing on the hand brake of your car.

Lever/Pad

Lever pad handles are a type of upvc door handle that have levers on both sides to operate the multipoint lock. These come in many variations and finishes and are suitable for a variety of materials like UPVC, Aluminium & Timber doors. They are sold as a pair for the inner and outer door with spindles & screws included. They are available both unhanded and handed versions to suit different users.

They are typically used for new constructions and can be installed to replace existing old upvc window handles doors. They are usually operated by lifting the levers to throw out all of the multipoint locks, and turning the key to close and unlock. They provide a bit more security than standard lever door handles since locking can only be performed from the inside using the key.

They're not as secure as a cylinder lock, but they're a cost-effective way to add extra security to your home. The only downside is that they don't offer the same level of protection as a cylinder bolt, and therefore don't stop external access when the door is left open.

Lever/Moveable Pad

This handle is designed to be used with uPVC multipoint locks which use a split spindle mechanism. This kind of operation requires that the internal lever handle and external pad handle be attached to the same lock case.
