This is a good option to consider if you're looking for a basic robotic cleaner that doesn't have the advanced features of other models. It was great at picking up pet hair, Cheerios and kitty litter on hardwood floors.

It's fast and precise in mapping rooms, and it avoids obstacles well. It can be controlled manually by using the remote included.

1. Roomba iRobot s9+

The s9+ is the best robot vacuum we've tested for cleaning hard floors and carpeting. It has the strongest suction power of any robotic vacuum cleaner on the market. It also does an excellent job of eliminating pet hair. It can be programmed to do multiple passes or adjust suction levels based on the size of the room, which is a feature that we haven't seen on other models. Its app allows you to modify the way it operates, and even select when it begins working to allow you to be present in the room while it moves around.

Smart mapping produces a comprehensive home map that can help the S9+ navigate efficiently and determine routes. It's also self-emptying, so it doesn't require any intervention on your part during the cleaning process and can return to its base and recharge mid-clean (though it's possible to hear it rumble back to its dock once it gets settled, a sound that sounds like the sound of a jet engine taking off). In our testing, the s9+ maneuvered over obstacles such as tables and power cables easily and did not lose its charge or got stuck. However, it doesn't have the hazard avoidance capabilities of newer models and can become entangled in rug tassels and other obstructions that it's unable to see.

The s9+ has flat fronts, unlike most circular robots. It also has a squared-off face that makes it easier to reach corners than models with curving fronts. It's also quieter than our previous iRobot robot and more compact than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not cheap, but it's an excellent value for the price given how well it performs and the fact that you don't have to worry about emptying a dirty bin afterward. In addition, it's usually on sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The J7+ is among the most advanced robot cleaners available. It is equipped with iRobot Genius Technology, which lets it detect obstacles and maneuver around them. This means that you don't need to be concerned about the robot striking walls or furniture. It also slows down when it approaches an object so that it can gently clean edges. This is especially helpful when you have pets that are small who leave their messes behind.

The j7+ also has the ability to mop and vacuum with the help of a mopsitter. If it detects that you're on a surface that needs to be cleaned it will switch to the standard cleaning mode and deploys the robot arm with a pad attached. It swept the floor using a gentle touch, leaving my floors looking and feeling like they had been thoroughly cleaned.

After it's finished mopping, the j7+ returns to its dock and recharges. It then drives to the spot where it started, and continues cleaning. It usually runs for 85 minutes, give or take in my house, before returning to the dock to recharge. It's not as impressive as the s9+, but still impressive for a robot that can mop and vacuum.

The j7+, just like other iRobot vacuum cleaners, avoids obstacles and recognizes them. It also features what iRobot refers to as Cliff Detect Technology, which keeps it from falling down the stairs. It's an excellent safety feature for families with children.

The onboard bin of the j7+ is relatively small, so you'll need to return it to the dock to empty it frequently in the event that your home is big. However the j7+ is incredibly easy to store. The all-in-one Clean Base is a charging dock as well as an external dustbin and an internal bin in which the j7+ is able to deposit dirt.

3. Shark iQ

This sleek robot vacuum cleaner and sonic mop carpets and hard floors simultaneously. Matrix Clean Navigation is also included, which utilizes grids to cover the entire home. Despite its impressive performance on bare flooring, this model has certain issues on carpets with low pile and struggles to suck up heavy debris as the dirt compartment gets full. But it's well constructed and has a lengthy battery life that you can extend with the eco-friendly 'Eco' mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible both with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so you can operate it using your voice. The app lets you choose the name of your robot (mine's Sharky Shark), program and remotely run its runs, check your cleaning history, and get alerts for errors. You can also create an outline of your home and manually set no-go zones.

The Shark iQ is more expensive than the iRobot Roomba j7+, however, it offers superior mapping and app features and superior cleaning performance on all surface types. It also charges more quickly and is less likely to get caught on tassels of rug, which reduces recurring costs. This model is unable to avoid furniture or pet bowls. You need to use physical boundaries strips to shield the model from these objects.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

A smart bumper softens the impact of hitting furniture walls or legs, while four "cliff" sensors on the sides and front let it know when it's nearing a dropoff, such as balconies or stairs and it can move back from the edge.

This model is a great choice in the robot vacuums under $300 category. It features a three stage cleaning system and two multi-surface brushes to remove dirt from carpeted and hard floors and an edge-sweeping tool takes care of edges and corners. The robot vacuum has a number of convenience features including Dirt Detect that spends more time on areas with a lot of dirt. It can be programmed to clean at specific time intervals and also has an app for remote control.

The Roomba from iRobot isn't as sophisticated however, as the i7. It does not include a mapping feature, nor the capability of creating virtual boundaries. It is more durable and has lower monthly costs than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s robot vacuum is a small but appealing machine that provides a good value for the price. It sucks pet hair well and has a large dirt compartment and can run for a long duration on a single charge. It's difficult to maintain and navigate, which is a major issue. It's not equipped with an app companion to it and voice control, however it does have a user-friendly remote. It also doesn't give you a notification when the dust bin is full, so you'll have to check it regularly.

The eufy is better than the Bobsweep Bob Pro in most ways however, it's not as efficient as the irobot vacuum mop Roomba 694 in many other ways. The iRobot Roomba 694 is much better built, has fewer parts to maintain, a HEPA-filter and lasts longer on a single charge and offers superior cleaning performance for floors that are bare, low-pile and high-pile. It also features a better navigation system which can navigate around obstacles, and has more advanced automation features like boundary stripes.

Although the eufy is still an excellent choice I would recommend the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for most users. The iRobot Roomba 900 Series is easy to maintain, more durable, has a bigger dustbin and performs better on all surfaces. It is also quicker to charge and has longer battery life.

The eufy robot is superior to the ILIFE a4s but not as effective as the top-end models like the Roborock S7 maxV Ultra. The iRobot has a better build as well as a larger dustbin, and incurs fewer recurring expenses. It also has a smarter navigation system that can move around obstacles and more advanced automation capabilities, including boundary strips. The irobot series also sucks up pet hair more efficiently, and is easier to maintain than the Eufy.
