iRobot Combo Review

Combo is iRobot’s first mop and vacuum robot. It's also one of the most stylish. Its brushed aluminum top piece and iRobot logo are more elegant than the blaring designs of competitors.

You can use the iRobot Home app to set up and guide your robot. The app collects usage data and maps of your home that include furniture and obstacles. Maps and image data is only shared with irobot roomba combo when you sign up.

It's not a mop.

The Combo irobot, a very smart mopping robot, has all the power of the superb Roomba J7+ and adds a reservoir of water onboard, mopping pads and a robotic arm which can lift and lower the pad. It can do a great amount of work in only 111 minutes before it gets power cut off and returns to its base station to recharge.

The model that includes the iRobot Home app so that you can start or stop cleaning runs. It's also a nice-looking robot, sporting matte black plastic that does not show fingerprints or dust and the top piece of aluminum is brushed with the small iRobot logo.

It's a fantastic vacuum cleaner, and it has no trouble crossing over large carpets or the transition strips between flooring surfaces. It's also able to pick up dust particles that robotic vacuums fail to pick up. However, it's not so good in the field of cutting. It's not able to eliminate dried milk stains, like, unless you send it out at least four or five times.

irobot vacuum and mop combo's own Braava Jet M6 mopping machine, which is available as an assortment with the j7 Plus, often for less than the price of the combo Combo is much more effective in this and other difficult jobs. It can even suck up ketchup and wine spills but I'd suggest sending it after any type of liquid that has a high sugar content.

It's an air vacuum

It's one of the more attractive robot vacuums. The top part is smooth and doesn't show fingerprints or dust as easily as some of its competitors. Its tiny combo dustbin and water tank are easy to close and open however they're not the best in terms of capacity. The Combo J7+ also comes with the same smarts you'd expect from iRobot, including map and obstacle avoidance mapping that operates reliably and quickly. The mopping arm is the thing that makes this model stand out in its category. The mop pad is kept on the top of the robot vacuum. However, if it detects a surface which requires mopping the pad is dropped beneath and behind the robotic vacuum. This is a major upgrade over other robot vacuums which require you to take out the mop pads to clean carpets or hard floors manually. You can even turn off the entire unit to mop.

It's a charging station

Place your Combo Irobot on the charging station, and align the metal contacts on the base. The charging station functions well and is simple to set up. During my tests, it took the robot a few moments to charge, and then it made an audible sound when it was finished. When the Combo newest irobot roomba is charged, you can start mapping runs in the app to help it understand your home. The app also lets you to mark certain objects as permanent avoidances, like lamp cords. You can also connect your robot to Alexa or Google Assistant, so you can use voice commands to guide it around the house.

It's a smart device

Combo irobots utilize acoustic and onboard sensors to discover the kind of floor it's encountering, as well as the furniture in your home. This information is then combined with images from the robot’s onboard camera as well as maps of your home to create a customized plan to clean every room. It is smart enough to keep your lamp cords, couch, and other objects that you would like to keep. Of course, as with any other connected device, there are concerns about the security of this data. iRobot, however, says that it will never sell any customer data and no images are captured without the consent of customers.
