Amazon Cancels iRobot Deals

Amazon has canceled its planned acquisition of Roomba maker irobot robot vacuums. The company stated that the deal had to overcome "undue regulatory hurdles." The company will pay iRobot a breakup fee of $94 million.

The move was announced after the European Commission, the EU's executive arm and its top antitrust enforcer, said it had an "preliminary opinion" that the merger would harm competition.
