The X2 Omni is the latest in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum-mop robots. This model is dry and wet. It includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille. This makes it easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mopping. During my tests it was able to clean the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as make a "Zambani pattern" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water before starting another clean-up job.

Like other Ecovacs products The X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. Simply snap the dock into place, plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It only takes about a minute. Then, you're able to launch the app and get started with your first cleaning project. I was able to modify my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of furniture on the wall and much more. The X2 Omni impressed me in my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal. It also was near-perfect in its results for edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced of the T-line from the company and features the OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than traditional scrubbing. It also has YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that can respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between vacuuming and mopping in one run. Both modes require that you attach and remove mop heads as needed which is great for most homes, but isn't a good fit for people with busy lifestyles.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It removed more than 96% of the debris from our hardwood flooring. This is an excellent performance. It also did an excellent job with tile and carpet, removing over 90% of dirt and debris.

This robot mop and vacuum comes with a large docking station which offers cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

The Deebot T10 features a wash tray built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads while using them. But it doesn't use an open tray, which means dirty water dust, dirt and other grime build up on the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It has enhanced intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the floor you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's stylish, even if its claim of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning does not be realized.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with sweeper wheels and an elevated sensor area. On the other side there's a motorized floorbrush and a single side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main path of its'mouth.' It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system lets you set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. It has a habit of bumping into things, including its own charging station, and isn't very good in climbing over carpets. It was effective in collecting pet hair off the floor. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter.

Although it can be controlled via the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base that let you select a cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. These buttons can be used to establish areas that aren't allowed to enter and look up maps in real-time. It's also a bit chatty, and will let you know what it's planning to do next (start cleaning) or notify you if something is wrong.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech vacuum model is able to pick up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable efficiency. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, which includes two cleaning modes, an automatic docking station, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The Wi-Fi enabled device can be operated via the Neato App, where cleanings are scheduled and maintenance requirements are tracked. The X2 Omni is a great choice for large homes that have a mixture of carpet and hard floors. However, it will need some planning in advance to avoid getting caught by electrical cables, toys or other unintentional obstructions.

This robot did well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It ate everything from a single rice grain to multiple dog food pieces, with just one pass. It had some trouble with rugs but, in general, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that have floors of different types and a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive however it's a great purchase for those who want to be able to leave the house hands-free so they can do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a useful auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and it comes with a battery-powered ElectroWall that lets you set boundaries that the robot is not allowed to access.

This budget-friendly option from a well-known brand is the cheapest model we've tested to date and offers an outstanding value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm and it's not equipped to map rooms. This makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and in the corners. And its mopping mode performed very well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ might not be as well-built however, it's better at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and floor surfaces that are bare. It also utilizes the smart-pathing software for better mobility. It can be directed to a particular area and has a suite of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It allows you to pause and resume cleaning sessions making it ideal for homes with pets.

Its self cleaning brushroll prevents knots and holds up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, dander and allergens.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It works with a smartphone application that lets you change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications in the event of any issues during the cleaning session. You can also control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.

The iQ excels for cleaning floors that aren't clean, and it does a decent job on shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it's not able to provide the same level autonomy as our top choices. It's also expensive and its monthly costs can be quite costly.
