Once you've got your D4 up and running it's possible to make use of the app to set up an automated schedule or manually start a clean anytime you like. 3. iRobot Roomba 985

iRobot Roomba 985 is a product designed to help you keep your floors clean and attractive, thanks to its powerful cleaning, smart navigation, and intelligent integration with other iRobot products. Its patented dirt detection system warns you of areas that require extra attention, and also includes smart sensors to keep it away from stairs and other risky obstacles. It will also recharge itself automatically and continues to clean until the task is complete. Its smart mapping technology and vSLAM enables it to map the entire floor of your home. This allows it to stay clear of wires and pet feces much better than other robotic vacuums that we've tested, including the Roborock S6MaxV, EcovacsN8Pro, and others.

It is also the most powerful vacuum. It is able to take out dirt with deeper particles or more pet hairs unlike other mid-range models like the Roomba 960. This is due to the cleaner's larger counter-rotating brushes as well as a more powerful motor with more suction power.

The Roomba 995 is iRobot’s least expensive vacuum, with recharge and resume. However it isn't equipped with the auto-empty feature that the I6+ or I7 offer. It also doesn't have iAdapt 2.0 navigation and the camera that the I7 uses to track objects and avoid obstacles. This means that it isn't able to save maps or use within-app features such as no-go zones.

5. iRobot Roomba 960

The 960 is a more expensive alternative to the 980. It offers the same capabilities, but in a smaller package. It's still great on carpeted and unfinished rooms, removing food dust, dirt tracked in and pieces of torn paper easily. It's also excellent at navigating around obstacles and avoiding them. It's capable of removing dirt embedded in the soil.

The robot uses iAdapt navigation 2.0 to track its position. This allows it to navigate the space efficiently and avoid becoming trapped. The top-mounted camera and SLAM combine to let it see the floor and objects, allowing it to deftly dodge furniture legs and other obstacles. It also has low profile, which allows it to get under couches and tables. And it's able to return to its dock to recharge whenever it's needed.

The 960's navigation, while lacking some of the latest features, like the ability to save maps and a selective cleaning of rooms, is superior to many other robots. It also has a larger dirt bin than the 690.

The iRobot Home app for iOS or Android allows you to control the 960. It offers a variety of features for automation which include the ability to create cleaning preferences, a schedule, trigger spot cleanings and check the battery's status. You can also monitor the location of the vac and receive notifications when its dirt compartment is full. The 960 also allows voice commands using Alexa and Google Assistant. The iRobot Roomba 960 makes a great choice for most homes. It's well-built, has lower recurring costs, a larger dirt container, and costs more quickly than the RoboVac 11 If you're looking for a less expensive alternative that can perform the same job on carpets and bare floors, the Neato Botvac is a good alternative.
