The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a budget and don't require a stroller that can be used as a car seat carrier. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.

It's easy to push, and it feels solid when traversing kerbs and woodland trails. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, thanks to its extremely nimble handling and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all 4 wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to 'perfectly traverse all terrains and types'.

The bent fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6months of colour pack are combined to create a stylish pushchair with a delicate elegant look. The base frame alone weighs just over a kilogram and is so light that you can easily lift it from the box (and do it with one hand).

It's also easy to add or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 by clicking - as well as being machine washable at 30deg to prevent staining from rice cakes smushed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to stroller at 6 months by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is an excellent choice for parents looking for an adaptable stroller. It transforms from a stroller to wagon just by flipping the handle, meaning parents can select which mode they prefer on their adventure. The wagon can accommodate two or three children ranging from 6 months to five years old. It has a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need while on the go.

The Xplore also comes with two canopies that move from the front to the back, offering ample sun coverage for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This might not be suitable for long trips or naps.

The frame on the Xplore feels sturdy and solid, although it does not have as much flexibility as other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and does not lock tightly once folded. It is easy to move however, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are seeking a second stroller that's affordable. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size which means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to move into a trunk of a car or closet. It also has a multi-position reclined seat and cup holders for the parent. Other features of note include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

In our push and turn test it performed better than most of the other strollers that we test, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the tiniest of strollers we tested. They only cover the top of the stroller and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have larger canopy sizes.

The Delta took us just over 3 minutes to assemble with an average manual and no components required tools. However, it is missing certain essential features that we believe it is important to consider as non-negotiable features for a double stroller for example, a larger basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the newest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is billed as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The carrycot and seat can be converted easily with only a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a lightweight Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible baby carriage.

The seat can be reclined with one hand, and the big shopping basket makes it simple for parents to take their child in and out. This narrow pushchair handled every day bumps and doors with ease.

The front wheels can be locked into an forward position or allow them to swivel which helps when covering rough terrain. While walking on the stony path, we allowed them to swivel and it performed well, though it did appear more bumpy than the other models in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is known for their three-wheeled, all-terrain jogging pushchairs, but they also have a wide assortment of strollers with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It folds easily and fits easily into the trunk of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers we've tested, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver over different terrains and even with two children, a shopping bag and other items.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that can be removed to reveal the UV50and sun canopy extension. They are water-resistant and durable, unlike some other pram hoods that are whipped back into toddlers' faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does come with a huge basket that's deep enough for a changing bag and plenty of groceries. It can also be used with the Baby Jogger car seat for infants up 20 lbs (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first rolled onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents everywhere. It's a stroller made of aluminum which can be used from baby's first days to beyond. It comes with a variety of distinctive features like the possibility of flipping the seat between parent and the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy, a flip out eyeshade as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are strong and filled with foam which minimizes punctures and the chassis has built-in suspension that eases the pain of bumpy terrain. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through narrow streets with ease.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It can also be rolled and raised for easier transport down the stairs, or in the trunk of the car. It also comes ready with the option to include a car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that come with it. The brakes are simple to use, using a single push chair, colour coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It folds using just one hand, and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also very light and sturdy. The seat is reclined in many positions and has a built-in double breathable mattress that's suitable for babies from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be set up to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be placed so that they face each the other. They can also be set to face the parents. This should lessen sibling fights over who gets seated with dad and mom. It comes with a big tray for gears with a bottle holder as well as snack tray. It also comes with a folding stand that folds down and a frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who love to be active. It's one of the lightest strollers you can get for your child. It comes with amazing safety features, including a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It has a different type of hand brake unlike other models that is an innovative twist.

The seat is comfortable and has plenty of room to sit, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers we've tried (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is secured with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold up to 10lbs that is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with infant car seats or bassinets in the way it is, however you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters for the majority of seats made by brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to put together with no tools. The manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
