Slot Missions in Hogwarts

Slot missions are an excellent way to earn gear weapons, equipment and much more. However, they can be difficult to do.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot allows the player to bring pistols into a mission. Some players make use of it to attain certain goals, particularly those who aim for Suit Only. Some players make use of the extra pistol to fill in a gap. When you use this slot, you need to remember that you will need to click on the corresponding pistol category button, such as the slot 2 alternative for machine guns, in order to select them. Having Major Expedition and Adept Rider active makes this much simpler. This combo will add a damage tick every 10 seconds from the Concealed Weapon for as long as it is slotted.

Smuggled Item Slot

The smuggled item slot a good feature for allowing players to bring in tools and weapons, however it could be improved with a better affordance. It's currently designed as pistols, which makes it hard to distinguish the smuggled items slot from other slots in the gear.

The smuggle slot can hold a large variety of objects, ranging from simple concussion devices, to weapons-grade explosives. These items are hidden in a hidden location on the map and can be recovered at any moment. Smuggled items are different from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes that hide small items in the scenery or objects.

Mission planning is a feature available in episodic missions that lets players unlock different starting locations equipment, smuggled items, and slots ahead of their entry into the map. As players progress through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these planning options increase. This lets players plan the perfect task for every challenge.

Gear Slot

The gear slots will quickly fill up early in the game, which will result in the common message "Your Gear Slots Are Full". This message stops Max to select new equipment until the previous items are removed or more space has been accumulated. The solution to this problem is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which provide more inventory space in exchange for the completion of challenge missions. However, because the majority of these challenges are scattered around the world and could be missed it could take some time to get the maximum number of inventory slots that are available in the game.

The five Gear Slots of a player can be filled with up to five different types of gear. These must be selected from the Gear Selection menu before a Break-In begins. Each individual gear item (except the Pistol) will take up one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like Grenades that are of the same type) only has one Gear Slot.

Agency pick-ups

As you progress through Mission Mastery levels, you unlock various agency pickups throughout the map. These locations let you store an item that does not fit into your slot for weapons or gear, and retrieve them later.

These pick-ups can be useful when your task requires you to go through a frisk or you have a weapon with you that could cause suspicion. You can only hide only one item at a pick-up location.

This DLC also includes new asset protection and security contracts to the agency. Contact the receptionist at the agency and stock up on snacks and armor. Once you've reached the marker, identify a mob when you arrive.
