When the iRobot Combo j7+ realizes that it's on a surface that needs to be cleaned using water, a small robot arm is raised and swings a tiny mopping pad under it. It was a very intuitive system that performed well during my tests. It was not able to remove water-based liquids such as wine or juice. The mopping pad is easily washed and reusable.

The front camera of the iRobot Combo is also useful. It can spot potential hazards, such as power cables and pet waste and avoid them to ensure a thorough clean. This is superior to most robot vacuums' cameras that may get stuck on items like rug tassels. The iRobot Combo ju7+ front camera has blind spots that may cause it to miss certain objects.

The iRobot Combo ju7+ is expensive, but it performs well enough to justify its cost. It's received a good rating from customers who appreciate its clever features. Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision

The Scout RX3 Home Vision is a full-fledged robot vacuum and mop that comes with the features you'd expect from a top-end brand. You can remotely monitor the home using its camera, and you can even view it in action on the app. (Although the app does not offer the same high-resolution images as the camera).

The mops do an excellent job of cleaning tiles or wood floors, as well as carpets, and also removing dust, dirt and pet hair. They also have efficient obstacle avoidance, which doesn't push small and lightweight objects, like socks or toys, around the floor. It's the most efficient mopping robot we've evaluated. It comes with a magnet strip that can be used to block off areas the robot will not be able reach, like rooms with lots of cables.

However, the robot is lacking in other features that are expected of an item of this kind. The mops are excellent however, their maximum runtime of 60 minutes is less than we would like to have in a product with this price. Additionally, it doesn't empty itself into its charging station or follow up the mopping with the quick vacuum.

It's still a great option for those who have large homes, as the cleaning and mapping process are quick and efficient. The app is easy to navigate, and you can set up schedules for when it will be working. If you don't have a reliable WI-FI connection, you'll be able to manage it using the remote, or with voice integrations with Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is expensive, but it offers many smart features that make up for the price. The live monitoring feature for homes is fantastic, and it also looks cool. It's a great option for those with young children or pets, or anyone who needs to keep an eye on their home while away. Many people who own a robot mop and vacuum combo say that they are amazed at how quickly their floors improve after starting to use them regularly.

Roborock S7 Max Ultra

Roborock's newest robot vacuum and mop combo self empty, the S7 Max Ultra ($1299 at Amazon), is an excellent upgrade over the already excellent S6 and S7 models. It adds a host of useful features, including more aggressive mopping and higher-powered suction (up to 5,100Pa, compared to the earlier models which had a lower power of 2,400Pa). It also features a precise lidar navigation system that functions in 3D similar to radar. This lets it see things such as baseboards, chairs and furniture legs so that it can expertly maneuver around them. It is able to create custom cleaning routines that you can start by pressing for example, an "After meal mode" which systematically cleans and vacuums the kitchen floors.

This robot also comes with an exclusive feature that isn't found on most other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plates when it detects carpeting, so it doesn't let area rugs get wet and makes mopping more efficient. It also comes with a deep-cleaning feature that vacuums and mops carpets in one pass, removing dirt and dust more effectively than spinning mops. The app can be used to schedule weekly cleanings, or to clean on demand.

The S7 Max Ultra is a great device for its intended purposes, but it does have some disadvantages. The cost is the biggest. It's the highest-priced bagless self-emptying robot vacuum vacuum and mop combo I've ever reviewed. The other issues are not specific to this particular model, but more typical of robotic vacuums as a whole: it does not deal with large spills or, sticky messes well.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to set up: simply plug it in and then sync it to your phone via Wi-Fi and then begin a clean-up. Once you've done this you can alter the settings in the app. For instance you can set up no-go zones and schedule cleanings.

Its impressive obstacle avoidance is another big plus. It only slowed down twice in tight spaces, which is a lot superior to the S6 MaxV's three tries and the X1 Omni's four attempts. The app lets you mark an object as a temporary obstacle, and the S7 Max Ultra will ignore it during future cleanings.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is one of the few robots that include mops and vacuuming in its design. It's also among the less expensive combo bots in our review. The Freo's impressive cleaning efficiency and numerous options for customization makes it an excellent option for any home that requires a combination cleaner. However, the absence of advanced obstacle avoidance features and a polished app tempered our enthusiasm for this model.

The first step to get the Freo up and running is a quick scan of your area which helps it determine the space it will cover when cleaning. The process takes around one minute. Once the Freo has a better idea of where everything is located, it will be better able to navigate during subsequent cleanings.

Another great feature is Freo's ability of registering the room as dry vacuuming or mopping so it's more efficient when switching between these functions. It is also intelligent enough to know when mop pads require to be replaced and return to the dock to replenish them before returning to clean hard surfaces.

The Freo's ability to best self-emptying vacuum and mop carpets is an important strength. The mops pads of its twin are automatically raised when the Freo encounters carpet and allows it to make use of less power and resources while still removing debris. It can also remove oatmeal and sand without having to go through multiple times using the vac/mop.

The Freo's unique tilted side brush are inspired by street sweeper trucks. They do well in pulling in and sweeping out dirt particles. The Freo's round design and premium finish makes it a striking piece of equipment. The robot can be controlled by an LCD screen on its base station. However, we preferred to use the app for smartphones.

The app has a range of options to customize Freo's behavior. These include schedules for busy areas as well as spot cleanings. There is also the option of activating parental lock. You can also choose the amount of time the Freo is drying its mop pads and set preferences for how often it emptys its bin. You can set the maximum size of the trash container.
