Slot Missions in Hogwarts

Slot missions are a great method to earn gear weapons, gear and much more. But they're also difficult to do.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot is a special slot that allows you to bring pistols in to a mission. Some players use this to help reach certain achievements, especially those going for Suit Only. Others prefer to have the additional pistol to make a gap closer. It's important to remember that to select the pistols that belong in this slot you must click on the button to select the appropriate category, like alternate slot 2 machine guns. Having Major Expedition and Adept Rider active makes this much simpler to accomplish. This combo can also trigger an attack tick from the Concealed Weapon every 10 seconds so long as you have it slotted.

Smuggled Item Slot

The smuggled item slot a good feature for allowing players to bring weapons and tools, but it could use a better affordance. It's currently shaped as pistols, which makes it hard to differentiate the smuggled item slot from other slots for gear.

The smuggle slot can hold an array of items, ranging from small concussion devices, to weapons-grade explosives. These items are covertly stashed in a hidden location on the map and can be found at any time. The items that are smuggled differ from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes which hide only small items in the scenery or objects.

Mission planning is a feature available in episodic missions. It allows players to discover different starting points as well as smuggled items and gear bonus round slots prior to entering the map. As players advance through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these options for planning increase. This allows players to design the perfect mission for each task.

Gear Slot

The gear slots will rapidly fill up in the early stages of the game, leading to the frequently-repeated message "Your Gear Slots Are Full". This message stops Max to select new equipment until the previous items are removed or more space has been accumulated. Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials are the solution to this problem. They provide more inventory space to complete challenges missions. However, as many of these challenges are scattered across the world and can be overlooked, it may take a long time to acquire the largest amount of inventory slots available in-game.

The five Gear Slots of a player can be filled with up to five different types of gear, which must be selected in the Gear Selection menu before a Break-In can begin. Each gear item (except Top Software Providers For Slots the Pistol) will take up one Gear Slot, while a grouping of similar items (such as the grouping of Grenades) only uses one Gear Slot.

Agency pick-ups

As you advance through the Mission Mastery levels you unlock various agency pickups on the map. These locations allow you to store items that don't fit in your concealed weapon or gear slot, and take them out later.

These pick-ups can be useful if your mission requires you to go through a frisk or you have a weapon on you that could cause suspicion. However, you can only conceal one item per game at a pickup location for agencies.

This DLC adds new contracts for asset protection and security to the agency. Talk to the receptionist at the agency and stock up on snacks and other items. Then, walk to the designated marker and locate a mob at the time of arrival.
