Hades 2 - Sign Up For a Playtest

Developer Supergiant Games' 2020 roguelike Hades will be getting a sequel. It's an ambitious move that increases the stakes and offers deeper look into familial politics.

Melinoe is back to kill Chronos the titan of time. On her route, she will meet new gods, like the personifications of the light Apollo and witchcraft goddess Hecate as well as the deity of revenge Nemesis.

1. Hades 2 Technical test

Participants who take part in the test for technical purposes will be able to select various boons for each room fighting minibosses and other enemies, and take on the boss of that area. They will also be able choose permanent upgrades and compete in "God Mode."

Hades 2 will feature more levels, foes and voiced characters key areas than the finished version of the original. The test participants who took part in the technical tests will not be able to carry their progress into the Early Access build. Supergiant is planning to "reset" the game from the beginning when it reaches Early Access. This means that no save data will be transferred.

2. Hades 2 Early Access

In addition to its stunning visuals, Hades 2 introduces a number of new and interesting characters and features that enrich the experience and challenge players in ways they did not anticipate. Alongside the new gods shades, and other items that are found in the Underworld there are a variety of items you can acquire and upgrade through Incantations. This system of permanent upgrades is found throughout each game. Melinoe is able to create new spells and improve her Nocturnal Armor and Weapons. She also can gather items from the Crossroads Camp to use in future runs, and unlock weapons, boons and other tools.

The introduction of more open areas is also a welcome improvement. These regions offer a variety different routes through each area, and the setting is constantly changing to explore. Each region offers a unique approach to the Underworld. Some are more accessible than others, but all provide unique challenges that distinguish them from other Roguelites.

Supergiant also altered the gameplay a bit in its early access version, cutting down some of the work required to obtain certain upgrades, and making it easier to move from one area to the next. There's a lot of work to be completed before the game hits its full release however, the studio has made it clear that it wants to make the most of user feedback and to continue to refine Hades 2 to a perfect state.

Supergiant is known for its ability to listen to its customers, and resolve any issues that might arise. This is evident in how it handled the early-access release of demo Hades 2 It may be a while before the full version launches, but it already feels worthy of a spot on your gaming shelf alongside its predecessor.

3. Hades 2 Beta

Hades was a roguelike like no other when it was released in the year 2018. The game received numerous awards and is considered to be one of the best games ever created. With its rich narrative grounded in Greek mythology, stories of familial struggles, and LGBTQ+ representation that feels natural and inclusive, it was no wonder it resonated with so many people. It came as no surprise to those who loved the film when Supergiant announced that a sequel was in the in the works.

Seven years later, after the first release, Hades 2 is finally getting early access. And while it doesn't change much mechanically, the passion and dedication that Supergiant invested in Hades 2 is clear from the beginning.

According to the Steam page for Hades 2, the game "brings back all the elements that made the first so special with the isometric perspective, clearing rooms, choosing boons and unleashing powerful attacks, the hub world, with a variety of fully voice-acted characters to speak with and learn from, the ever-shifting Underworld and more."

In addition to these new features, the test also adds a few new ones too. For instance, the capability to unlock new upgrades permanent for Melinoe as well as a brand new weapon, and a variety of other options that will help you survive the hordes of the Underworld. You'll also be able to tame witchy familiars, reveal mysteries at the Arcana Altar, and gather agents that can boost your abilities.

4. Hades 2 Release Date

Supergiant claims that Melinoe's look and personality will be akin to Zagreus even though the character is not an exact replica. The character was also based on a Greek mythological character that the studio modified for the story of Hades 2
